NEW-REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Formal registration for publishing
in the hard cover book was complete June 2, 2006.
Registrations are still being accepted for the soft
cover supplement which will be available at the
Dedication.
Vietnam/ERA (see rules) veterans MUST
register to receive complementary concert tickets. With regards to your registration
for your free complimentary tickets:

Complimentary tickets will not be
mailed - all Vietnam/ERA veterans who have
registered and reserved their complimentary tickets
may pick them up at the Vietnam Dedication Welcome
Center on 9/15 or 9/16.

At this time, free veterans
ticket supplies have been exhausted.

Veteran Registrations received after midnight on
Sept. 4 will not be included in the Chamber of
Commerce's book of remembrance**

Your registration for the Vietnam War Memorial Dedication is extremely
important for the success of this project.
By completing this form, not only are you reserving an invitation to the
event for yourself, but you are helping us complete our records. THIS WILL BE
THE OFFICIAL RECORD of those South Dakotans who served during the Vietnam
Era.
By completing this form, your information will be forwarded to the Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs.

A South Dakota Vietnam Veteran is:
• Any South Dakotan who served more than 6 months of
active duty military service
between February 28, 1961, and May 7, 1975. This need NOT
have been service directly in Vietnam.
• Any person who was born or raised in South Dakota
or was drafted or enlisted in South Dakota.
• Any person who was born or raised in South Dakota,
but was drafted or enlisted in another state.
• Any person from another state who is now a
permanent South Dakota resident and was drafted or
enlisted in another state.
• Service on active duty by any reserve or national
guard personnel for training may not be
construed as service on active duty, unless the
veterans' commission determines, by rules promulgated
pursuant to chapter 1-26, that such training involved
the person in direct participation in or direct support
of combat operations against a hostile force.
